Este análisis tiene como objetivo estudiar el fenómeno de las sad girls en la contemporaneidad, específicamente dentro del ámbito musical, con un enfoque en cuatro cantantes que se relacionan con esta figura: Lana del Rey, Mitski, Halsey, y Billie Eilish. Se busca explorar la reapropiación de la tristeza como resistencia social en un producto cultural de gran relevancia actual: la música. Además, se pretende entender de dónde surge la visión y apreciación estética de la tristeza femenina a través de un estudio que abarca lo grecolatino, lo romántico y lo posmoderno. Para comprender las letras que estas cantantes interpretan, se utiliza el análisis lacaniano de las metáforas y el inconsciente, lo imaginario, lo simbólico y lo real, así como el otro y la mirada.

This analysis aims to study the phenomenon of sad girls in contemporary society, specifically within the realm of music, with a focus on four singers associated with this figure: Lana del Rey, Mitski, Halsey, and Billie Eilish. The goal is to explore the reappropriation of sadness as social resistance in a culturally significant product of the present day: music. Furthermore, it seeks to understand the origins and aesthetic appreciation of female sadness through a study that encompasses Greco-Latin, Romantic, and postmodern perspectives. To comprehend the lyrics these singers perform, Lacanian analysis of metaphors and the unconscious, the imaginary, the symbolic, and the real, as well as the concept of the "other" and the gaze are employed. Finally, to delve into the resistance against social overload within this musical reappropriation of sadness, the analysis is grounded in gender theory and feminism, aiming to understand female performativity as presented and represented from within the feminine itself, rather than exclusively from the male perspective.
