Factores que influyen en las evaluaciones de docentes en la Universidad del Valle de Guatemala

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es identificar factores que inciden en las evaluaciones de desempeño docente, a partir de los resultados obtenidos de las evaluaciones realizadas por estudiantes de licenciatura de la Universidad del Valle de 2017 al 2023. Se busca analizar la relación e influencia de variables relevantes para obtener un panorama completo de los resultados. Se realizará un análisis exploratorio de variables cuantitativas con estadísticas descriptivas y medidas de tendencia central y dispersión. Para la variable cualitativa (polaridad de los comentarios), se realizará un etiquetado con el lexicón ML-Senticon y un análisis de sentimientos. Se espera encontrar patrones y métricas relevantes que apunten a los principales factores influyentes en las evaluaciones de desempeño docente.

The purpose of this work is to identify factors that influence teaching performance evaluations, based on the results obtained from the evaluations performed by undergraduate students at Universidad del Valle from 2017 to 2023. Likewise, it seeks to analyze both the relationship and the influence of the relevant variables available, in order to obtain a more complete picture of the results obtained in the evaluations. To achieve the proposed objectives, an exploratory analysis of the quantitative variables will be carried out, including descriptive statistics and measures of central tendency and dispersion. In addition, for the qualitative variable of the study: polarity of the comments, a labeling of the comments with the ML-Senticon lexicon and based on this a sentiment analysis will be performed. It is expected that based on the results of the analyses performed, it will be possible to find relevant patterns and metrics that point to the main influential factors in teacher performance evaluations.
