| dc.description.abstract | La violencia de género y la inseguridad en los espacios públicos representan una problemática persistente que afecta a las mujeres guatemaltecas en su vida cotidiana. Ante esta situación, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo desarrollar el diseño de experiencia de usuario (UX) e interfaz (UI) de un prototipo de aplicación móvil orientado a brindar apoyo a mujeres en contextos de riesgo o vulnerabilidad. Se empleó una metodología centrada en el usuario que incluyó la revisión bibliográfica, el contacto con asociaciones, entrevistas semiestructuradas con especialistas, la elaboración de mapas de empatía, arqueotipos y recorridos de usuaria. | spa |
| dc.description.abstract | Gender-based violence and public insecurity remain persistent issues that significantly affect women in Guatemala in their daily lives. In response to this situation, the present research aimed to design the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) of a mobile application prototype intended to provide support for women in situations of risk or vulnerability. A user-centered design methodology was applied, including a literature review, collaboration with community organizations, semi-structured interviews with specialists, the development of empathy maps, user personas, and user journeys, as well as usability testing conducted in two iterative stages with expert participants. The results highlighted the importance of designing accessible, intuitive, and culturally contextualized tools that enable rapid alert activation, real-time location sharing, and communication with support networks. The improvements implemented between prototype versions demonstrated significant progress in visual clarity, usability, comprehension, and overall user experience. In conclusion, this project emphasizes the value of user-centered design as an approach to developing technological solutions with social impact, promoting the safety, autonomy, and empowerment of women in Guatemala. | eng |
